Sweet pepper ‘Diablo’ is a top-quality ox-horn variety, bearing heavy harvests of long pointed ruby-red fruits with sweet, crunchy flesh. Growing up to 16cm long, they‘re great for stuffing and salads. A longstanding holder of the RHS Award of Garden Merit.
Sow indoors
Sow individually 1/2cm (1/4in) deep in clean module trays of firm pre-watered compost Cover with a fine layer of vermiculite. Place in constant warmth 18 degrees celcius (65F) and keep soil moist at all times, slowly reducing the heat to 14 degrees celcius (57F) and increasing ventilation after germination to keep plants from getting leggy. Prick out when large enough to handle individually into 9cm (3.5in) pots filled with good quality compost.
Plant out
Plant out in individual pots or growing bags at a minimum of 15 degrees celcius (60F).
Tips
Water regularly and feed weekly with a liquid fertiliser once fruits start to swell.
