Long red shallot with lovely red skin colour and good storage capabilities. It has a delicious mild flavour and is perfect for slicing into rings for cooking or raw in salads.
Create the bulb size to suit you. Provide wider spacings for young plants if you want larger bulbs (as pictured) but smaller spacing for slightly smaller bulbs. These plants respond well to closer planting giving you bijou bulbs – but lots more.
We recommend you plant in good, uncompacted soil so the bulbs grow well and unimpeded by stones or hard clay. If your soil is a little compacted add some Westland Jack’s Magic to improve the consistency.
