Chilli Pepper Seeds ‘Cayennetta F1’
This vigorous heavy-cropper produces lots of flavoursome fruit without being too pungent! It makes a lovely decorative plant too with its contrasting deep green leaves and red fruit.
Sowing indoors
Sow seeds in individual 7.5cm (3 in) pots filled with seed compost. Push these seeds into the compost to a depth of 1cm (1/2 in). Place in a warm environment 18-25°C (65-75°F). As seedlings develop grow on in cooler, light conditions but avoid direct sunlight.
Planting on
When seedlings have developed three or four leaves transplant to10-12cm (4-6in) pots which have been filled with seed compost. Grow on at 15°C (60°F).
When the first flowers start to open, grow on in even larger pots on a sunny patio from around June, or in the greenhouse bed with plants at 30cm (12in) apart. Provide supports for the growing stems. At this stage water and feed with a high-potash feed to enhance flowering and fruiting.
