Euonymus fortunei ‘Emerald Gaiety’ is a tough, low-growing evergreen shrub with deep green leaves edged in white, becoming pink-tinged in winter. It makes an excellent groundcover shrub, growing well in sun or partial shade, and can also be trained as an informal climber. Holder of the RHS Award of Garden Merit.
Plant in well-drained soil in sun or partial shade. Water regularly in the first year after planting while the plant is getting established.
Euonymus ‘Emerald Gaiety’ does not need regular pruning. If necessary, it can be lightly trimmed in late spring to maintain a neat shape.
Remove any shoots with plain green leaves, cutting them off at the base of the shoot.
