Known as great companion plants for ridding whitefly from nearby hosts such as tomatoes and aubergines. This marigold variety is also perfect for ridding your soil of harmful root-eating nematodes, improving the chances of your home-grown crops and performing better for harvest time.
In strawberry plants yields decline quickly with nematode-affected plants. The growth and yield of all plants improve when Tagetes nema is grown in the soil in between crops.
Useful tips:
Grow the plants and chop the foliage down at flowering time (to avoid self seeding) and dig all parts into the soil, adding humus to the soil structure too. A true multi-purpose plant. 800 seeds covers around five square metres. (180 seeds per square metre.)
