Jerusalem Artichoke Fuseau Tubers
- Flowering and productive vegetable
- Great for allotments for sheltering plants
- Great alternatives to potatoes
- 10 easy-to-plant large tubers
- Super-productive variety
Introduce Jerusalem artichokes to your vegetable patch and anticipate big harvests of potato-like tubers that are easy to prepare and slightly nutty in flavour and texture. Variety Fuseau boasts particularly large tubers that are great to roast or steam in the kitchen.
Plant the tubers on delivery in your soil in a row about 30cm (12in) apart. In late summer your plants grow into sunflower-like flowers around 2m high and the flowers bring in useful pollinating insects like bees.
As the flowers are tall a row of Jerusalem artichoke Fuseau makes an effective windbreak for tender and medium-sized crops nearby like potato plants or near-to-maturing Brussels sprouts.
Useful Tip:
Dig up the tubers like you would potatoes in autumn. We recommend that you roast them or boil them and add to a vegetable stew to enhance the flavour.
