Useful tip
Grow these varieties in Gro-Sacks if you haven’t got a vegetable patch but want to enjoy the benefits of home-growing. Plant one to five seed potatoes to every Gro-Sack in spring in specially-formulated Vegetable Compost (this offers the right free-draining consistency).
Treat your plants to some Pre-planting Potato Feed for a good boost of nutrients. Earth up the soil around the bottom half of the stems on a weekly basis to ensure you keep the actual potatoes well-covered at all times.
Seed Potatoes
All our seed potatoes are graded to a size 35mm x 35mm to 55mm x 55mm. This means that the smallest seed potatoes in the sample will not fall through an 35mm square. This does mean there will be various sizes within the pack. More modern varieties are more equal in size but as we want to offer the more unusual and Heritage varieties, these are more variable but we will always supply the weight stated. Any harvest will depend on individual growing conditions but generally smaller potatoes will produce smaller crops and larger potatoes will produce larger crops. But for example 1kg of seed potatoes will produce the same overall harvest whether the seed potatoes are small or large.
