Plant seed potatoes of Maris Bard on your vegetable plot to give you a reliable high yield of regular, shallow-eyed oval tubers.
In the kitchen the flesh is soft creamy-white and waxy and doesn’t discolour when boiled. It holds it shape well which is great news when making a potato salad with potato pieces that don’t disintegrate.
A well established garden variety, Maris Bard shows a good all-round disease and pest resistance to give you peace of mind you will be harvesting lots of tasty and unblemished potatoes when it comes to harvest time in early summer.
All our seed potatoes are graded to a size 35mm x 35mm to 55mm x 55mm. This means that the smallest seed potatoes in the sample will not fall through an 35mm square. This does mean there will be various sizes within the pack. More modern varieties are more equal in size but as we want to offer the more unusual and Heritage varieties, these are more variable but we will always supply the weight stated. Any harvest will depend on individual growing conditions but generally smaller potatoes will produce smaller crops and larger potatoes will produce larger crops. But for example 1kg of seed potatoes will produce the same overall harvest whether the seed potatoes are small or large.
