Maris Peer Second Early seed potatoes produce firm white fleshed tubers which do not break up or discolour on cooking. Expect heavy yields of medium sized tubers, which are good boiled.
If harvested when small (in June), they are particularly good for making potato salads but you can harvest from July if you prefer bigger potatoes.
All our seed potatoes are graded to a size 35mm x 35mm to 55mm x 55mm. This means that the smallest seed potatoes in the sample will not fall through an 35mm square. This does mean there will be various sizes within the pack. More modern varieties are more equal in size but as we want to offer the more unusual and Heritage varieties, these are more variable but we will always supply the weight stated. Any harvest will depend on individual growing conditions but generally smaller potatoes will produce smaller crops and larger potatoes will produce larger crops. But for example 1kg of seed potatoes will produce the same overall harvest whether the seed potatoes are small or large.
