Planting in containers:Â For smaller plants, repot into larger containers filled with a loam-based compost such as John Innes no 3 and grow on until big enough to plant out.
Aftercare:Â Water regularly in the first year after planting. Protect young plants with fleece in winter.
Prune if necessary in winter or spring to remove any dead, damaged or crossing branches.
