Sow indoors
February-April: Sow individually 1⁄2cm (1⁄4in) deep in clean module trays of firm pre-watered compost. Cover with a fine layer of vermiculite. Place in constant warmth 18°C (65°F) and keep soil moist at all times. Slowly reducing the heat to 14°C (57°F) and increasing ventilation after germination to keep plants from getting leggy. Prick out when large enough to handle individually into 9cm (3 1⁄2in) pots filled with good quality compost.
Plant out
May-June: Plant out into individual pots or growing bags at a minimum of 15°C (60°F).
Tips
TIP – Water regularly and feed weekly with a liquid fertiliser once fruits start to swell.
