The sweetcorn that really packs a punch. Healthy plants give you long cobs with impressive girth and sweet kernels; so sweet that Tyson cobs are delicious eaten straight from the plant. Tyson is so impressive. Every thick cobs has an average of 20 kernels in circumference. This compares well with other varieties that only average 16.
Useful tips:
When sowing or positioning plants outdoors, sow in a grid format so the plants pollinate well on the wind. The pollen on the tops of the plants fall to the female flowers lower down that form the edible crops. Keep your plants well-weeded with a hoe while they develop.
If you have badgers visiting the garden, provide a small fence around your crops. Badgers love sweetcorns too so can be pesky if you don’t protect your plants.
