With resistance to scab, these potatoes can be harvested early for smooth, creamy new potatoes or left to grow into larger baking potatoes with excellent texture.
Seed Potatoes
Vivaldi is a relatively new variety and can be used as a baker, mash, boiled or roasted. With thin pale yellow smooth skins, can be lifted early when potatoes are smaller to make smooth creamy new potatoes, that dont break apart when boiled. Larger sizes are great for baking as the flesh doesnt dry out too much. Has shown resistance to scab.
All our seed potatoes are graded to a size 35mm x 35mm to 55mm x 55mm. This means that the smallest seed potatoes in the sample will not fall through an 35mm square. This does mean there will be various sizes within the pack. More modern varieties are more equal in size but as we want to offer the more unusual and Heritage varieties, these are more variable but we will always supply the weight stated. Any harvest will depend on individual growing conditions but generally smaller potatoes will produce smaller crops and larger potatoes will produce larger crops. But for example 1kg of seed potatoes will produce the same overall harvest whether the seed potatoes are small or large.
